The hardwood stair treads here are out of maple with a dark walnut stain and the risers are obviously painted. The newel post is cut 45° on the top and all four corners are coved.
This installer drilled holes in the underside of the handrail and into the sloping stringer to install the black metal spindles and then used ‘angled shoes’ in both locations to hide the drill holes.
