Shipping Custom Hardwood Steps & Railings to Atlantic Canada
Our transportation courier has made strategic links with one of the East Coast’s “50 Best Managed Corporations”: Armour Transportation
Here’s a list of all their shipping terminals in the Atlantic Provinces:
Our local courier, Apex Motor Express, picks up our pallets of stair treads or railing components and drop ships them to Armour’s depot in Montreal and then Armour takes our wood and metal components the last few 100 miles or so, to all of our east coast clients…. yeh, this is when we realize how BIG Canada is.
We like the fact that we can put all your steps in one package with the vital edges protected on the inside. It can then be moved around with forklifts and pallet jacks where it is less likely to get dropped on a corner or jammed in rollers.
So far we are batting 100% on no damage… touch wood, and I’ve got lots of wood!
We have found this more reliable than using package couriers like UPS or Fedex where the boxes get relatively rough handling in automated sorting conveyors.
As with all of our shipments you have basically two options, either pick it up at the depot, so you’re not waiting in for the courier or have them deliver it to a local address.
Just to give you an idea, shipping to a depot usually costs between $110 and $160. depending on exactly the quantity that we are shipping. To take it that extra mile or so and drop it off at a private residence there is usually ~ a $50 surcharge.
